Second Semester

First Semester was a tough 5 month journey.
Got my grades and I ranked second among the class.

Unfortunately I didn't got  the scholarship i was working on.
I was down by 0.10 grade [pretty close!!!]
Maybe I should work more harder.
Imma focus and maybe trimming down other extra curricular stuffs.

Will try harder this second semester. Tough battle to get high grades..
Hopefully make it at the end of the year :)

Praying a lot right now.

October Fest

Its October! and First Semester is almost over.
but before that,  we have to go through a lot of Exams.
and this is what I call the October Fest!
What I great way to start the month right?
And also to add up! This is also my birthday month, [party on!]

As a normal medical student it is really a lifelong daily habit to keep on studying. Sometimes I just get immune to the fact that I entered to this huge responsibility and yes I accepted that this is how life of Doctor-to-be really is. Study. Study and Study.

So basically this would be a week of exams everyday. and yes sir I mean everyday a Fest of Exams. Poor brain cells of mine. And that means no more sleep, no more relaxation, no nothin. -___-

Here are the scheduled OCTOBER FEST of EXAMS :
Oct. 1 - Biochemistry Long Exam 5
Oct. 3 - Principles of Medical Practice
Oct. 4 - Physiology Finals
Oct. 5 - Gross Anatomy Lecture
Oct. 6 - Histology
Oct. 7 - Anatomy Laboratory & Preventive Medicine and Community Health
Oct. 8 - Biochemistry & Psychology

And this is how I will ended our first Semester
Hardcore work. I know
And it ain't NO Joke.

Run for Juan 2011

it was a bad weather
It rained non-stop
But still the event pushed thru.

I along with some volunteers
DK, Von, Millard, Kiel, Vel, Cy & Eunice

helped along with other schools in Metro Manila
meet-up 1am at school
got off 2am
arrived 3am at UP diliman

from there it was like unexpected tasks and all
Jonelta was assigned part of the watchers around the oval along with UST, PLM and EAC
so disperesed the volunteers
Im already wet
my phones snucked in my pocket
took care of runners, friends & classmates

One unforgettable moment of the event was that
Vel, one of my volunteer called me up and reported a collapsed runner
Tried to ask for the medical team for assistance
Some police officer did the job
the doctors where missing
the driver of the ambulance where missing
no answer from the medical team initially
some officers rushed
the police officer was found *sigh* good thing he told us that the patient was stable
took to the Infermary

race started around 6am ended til 9am
finished the job by 10am
left UP by 11am
drove all the way back home at the south

wooh. slept all day and woke up 7pm
sunday haha
:)
whatta experience.
felt the heat of teamwork
beyond the pouring rain.

APMC experience

Apparently I kinda was appointed to represent Jonelta in the APMC-Student Network (NCR). This organization consists of 13 medical schools in the National Capital Region wherein different medical students work hand in hand in prospering extra curricular activities promoting social awareness.

So yah think all med students just study? NOT.
And this I guess is one of the great experience that I could share among the Organizations that I have been part of. I can really say that I am proud being to what position I am now and as much I am determined in representing my school, this life changing event is one heck of an adventure.

As of the moment I am in charge of making the Run For Juan, Med Groove on Feb2012. which I find it a big deal. So here test my leadership in being an event organizer! fun!! aboslutely! i lab it!! :)

First Day! High! UPHR-JFSM

All I can say is that this batch is HUGE!
so here are the numbers 60students.
The female species are outnumbered by the Males.
First Impression: Too quiet & serious. :geesh:
At first I was hesitant to go to the first year room. But then again, I had to really had to stay. This time my batch was assigned to 2nd yr room of last year, coz of our population.  Haha! Cool.
I hope i could seat up at front :) for better grasp of lecture. Beside that, I ended up with Dr. Tyrone Cossiep as my facilitator in my Pedagogy class. We started the Pedagogy with new friends, Gela, Marc, Saj, Jim, DK, Billy and Myrone.
Since it was the first meeting with everyone, We started with putting your NAME and labeling of what Medicine would be... i answered:
W-orkaholic
I-nteresting
A-dventure
M-any Exams

After which, we discussed what in aspects of Knowledge, Skills and Attitude we have to obtain being a Physician.

After the Pedagogy, Lunch break. Then off we go to the Auditorium at 3rd floor for the Opening Ceremony, and here all the faculty and students of the Jonelta School of Medicine attended. Scholars of the year were announced and Student Council Officers were elected.  Unexpectedly was appointed as PRO of the Medical Student Council and wallah!! It was pretty funny since Kuya Jay pre-planned it all.
My dear girl MARA got scholarship! which was totally awesome!
We cheered for the professors who were being called.
Dr. Pio Villacorta from the Dept. of Anatomy
and my favorite subject none other than Biochemistry with his GRAND ENTRANCE Dr. Gilbert Capapas had the most welcoming response by the medical students!

And the unforgettable moement, I had an eye of one of my senior batch, and he said "hi" which just made my day! So much more for a first day at Med School <3

So this week is more of adjustment and Im prettery sure next week will be bombarded with exams.
Serious mode is really ON this time!!
Great day! ended with a lot of chit-chat and much of the new clicks in school. wohoo! :)

a month to go

Anxious. Happy. Speechless. Excited.
these are the emotions that juggles within me. I know that this will be a roller coaster ride. and I will need a lot of strength because this will be 4 years of sacrifice and patience, but I know in the end it will be very rewarding.

I have a month to go.
To do whatever I freaking want. And when it hits JUNE. I am determined to be focused with this MEDschool.

MD Fresh start

So I entered Medicine last year. Ditched it. And now here I am again determined to finish it.

Well, all this Medical career was at first a big jump where I kinda felt I could try to do it since my Nursing career has no place to go. I was unsure of what I am doing. I don't even have my NMAT for crying out loud! Cause normally, Before any student goes into Medicine, one must take the NMAT. which is the entrance examination for each aspiring medical student to enter the school they wish too. In my case, I took my NMAT Dec2010 later on and I already started my First year Med Life.
My school had been considerate about me taking the NMAT later since they don't require any passing grade.

So as soon I arrived back from the states, I immediately look for it and there. I ain't so proud of my NMAT score.. i got a 42 [clap.clap.clap]
not the grade i expected to be but yet I didn't prepare for it anyhoo...since all the drama came by. Enough about it.

So right now, I seriously have a month left to get myself straight up and focus.
Since i went through a year. Now I know how to do it right.
This will be a Battle. a Marathon. a Challenge against myself where I will seriously take charge and finish this degree. Set Priorities straight and explore my full potential.

1st Year 2011-2012 I WILL ROCK THIS YEAR!! Seriously. All for the glory of the Lord and my daughter who He healed.

as the saying goes.

"The Doctor Treats. but the Lord Heals."
